FULL Sunbasket Review & Unboxing Video [**Must See Before Ordering**]

Sun Basket Reviewed

Trying to follow a healthy diet can be a challenge with a busy lifestyle! Maybe you just don’t have the time to go grocery shopping and pick out healthy recipes that you can make at home.

This is why there are many different meal delivery services popping up.

To take it a step further if you live with a digestive condition like IBS or SIBO choosing one of these services to test out can be tricky since you need to be careful with certain ingredients.

In this article, I chose to review Sun Basket. The reason I chose to write a Sun Basket review is that I thought this meal delivery service was one of the best to try if you have digestive issues or are sticking to a very clean meal plan.

How Sun Basket Works

how sunbasket works

Sun Basket is committed to providing organic, clean, and delicious recipes that are tailored to any customer’s specific dietary requirements.

As a certified organic food handler, Sun Basket offers customers 18 different recipes each week that they can mix and match according to their taste preference that week.

They offer different meal types such as paleo, lean & clean, gluten-free, vegan and other healthy choices. Sun Basket carefully crafts their healthy recipes to maintain a delicious flavor.

Also, Sun Basket is a particularly unique company due to its commitment to maintaining both environmentally and animal-friendly aspects of the complete meal preparation process. For example, from the minute Sun Basket meals are delivered to your home, they are packed in 100% recyclable and compostable materials. If you receive meals containing fish products, Sun Basket employs fisherman that utilize low-impact fishing methods to ensure that all fish are treated well.

Additionally, all meat products are completely free of any antibiotic or hormone treatments to prevent any unwanted distress to the animals, while also protecting consumers from any potentially harmful effects of eating foods containing unwanted products.

A percentage of proceeds from Sun Basket meals are also used to support local food banks, employment programs, and non-profit companies like Feeding America. Pretty cool!

Pros and Cons of Sun Basket

sun basket review

Pros:

Sun Basket definitely offers customers a huge convenience when it comes to grocery shopping and meal prepping, especially when you are trying to eat healthier but do not really know where to begin.

Even if you don’t want to use Sun Basket one week since you will be away for vacation, or have already taken the trip to the grocery store and don’t need the added meals that week, Sun Basket allows you to easily skip your delivery week or cancel your subscription at any time.

As compared to other meal delivery services like Hello Fresh, Blue Apron or Home Fresh, Sun Basket promises customers that organic and non-GMO ingredients will be incorporated into every meal, which really sets this meal delivery service apart from other companies.

Cons:

Sun Basket ships to most zip codes in the United States, however, this meal planning option is not currently available for customers in Arkansas, Hawaii, Montana, or parts of New Mexico quite yet.

Additionally, the costs of all meal services, including Sun Basket, can be a bit steep for the average customer, so this may be a con for some individuals who are not willing or interested in spending too much on their meals each week.

Overall:

While Sun Basket isn’t for everyone, they do offer quite a variety in meal options, especially when considering people with more stringent dietary requirements, so if you are interested in transforming your current diet but don’t know where to start, Sun Basket may be right for you!

Sun Basket for Digestive Issues

sun basket for tummy trouble

Anyone who experiences any type of digestive issue, particularly those with IBS or SIBO, are all too familiar with the difficulties that arise when going to restaurants or making any type meal choices that will 100% guarantee they will not experience any unwanted digestive symptoms.

For example, while you are able to choose a gluten-free meal plan, which helps to eliminate some high FODMAP food products, such as those containing wheat or grains, this does not eliminate other high FODMAP foods like certain vegetables, dairy products, meats or fish.

This may become a challenge for people with digestive conditions like SIBO or IBS, who must be careful in exactly what food products are incorporated into their daily meal. The decision must then be made as to whether the convenience of Sun Basket outweighs the possibility of receiving a potentially irritating food in your meal that week.

The Bottom Line

Sun Basket is an extremely convenient and useful meal delivery service that provides users with a wide range of healthy and organic food choices. Before making the decision to try Sun Basket, look through some of the recipes that this company offers to determine whether these flavors feel right for you.

If you are someone who is especially prone to digestive symptoms and require a carefully planned meal, you may need to choose your recipes carefully. Since it is not possible to eliminate all food items that may potentially cause your digestive symptoms to flare up, despite the wide variety of meal options offered by Sun Basket, it may be worth thinking carefully about if it is worth it.

However, if you are able to eat a wider range of healthy foods and are looking for an easy and convenient way to kick-start your diet, Sun Basket is one of the best meal delivery services around!
